City of Akron Quarterly Estimated Payments Program
Be prepared with the following before you begin:

  1. A completed Estimated Payment Worksheet*
  2. Your Akron City income tax account number
  3. The PIN assigned to your account for filing Online Estimated Payments
  4. One of the following two payment options:
    • The account and routing information of a valid checking account - OR -
    • A valid debit or credit card that has the Visa, Mastercard or Discover logo.
      This payment method requires you to call in debit/credit card information by telephone to finalize the transaction.
*You do not have to file a Declaration of Estimated Tax if you file your estimated payments online in a timely manner and pay at least 1/4th of your estimated tax in equal, quarterly payments.

New tax rate effective January 1, 2018:
Voters approved an income tax increase from 2.25% to 2.50% effective January 1, 2018. The new tax rate applies to the City of Akron, as well as the four Akron Joint Economic Development Districts: Bath-Akron- Fairlawn JEDD, Copley-Akron JEDD, Coventry-Akron JEDD and Springfield-Akron JEDD. Please consider this rate change in preparation of your 2018 filing.
